Terms of Service
Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the Bounds: Layout Inspector mobile application ("Bounds," "the App," or "Service") operated by Codecastic Studios ("we," "us," or "our").
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Description of the Service
Bounds: Layout Inspector is a mobile application that allows users to inspect and debug the user interface layouts of apps running on their Android device. The App uses Android's AccessibilityService API and overlay capabilities to display real-time layout information such as view bounds, dimensions, and element properties.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use the App. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.
3. User Accounts
3.1 Account Creation
You may use the App as a guest (without signing in) or create an account using Google Sign-In or email authentication. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
3.2 Account Accuracy
If you create an account, you agree to provide accurate and complete information and to keep your account information up to date.
3.3 Account Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if you violate these Terms or engage in fraudulent or abusive behavior.
4. Subscriptions and Payments
4.1 Bounds Pro Subscription
Bounds offers a premium subscription ("Bounds Pro") that provides access to additional features. Bounds Pro is available as weekly, monthly, or yearly auto-renewing subscriptions.
4.2 Billing
All payments are processed through Google Play. By subscribing, you agree to Google Play's terms and conditions for in-app purchases. Subscription prices are displayed in the App before purchase and may vary by region.
4.3 Free Trials
We may offer free trial periods for Bounds Pro. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription at the displayed price.
4.4 Auto-Renewal
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You can manage and cancel your subscription through the Google Play Store app on your device or at play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions.
4.5 Refunds
Refund requests are handled by Google Play in accordance with their refund policies. We do not process refunds directly.
4.6 Price Changes
We may change subscription prices from time to time. Price changes will not affect your current billing period. You will be notified of any price change before your next renewal, and you may cancel if you do not agree to the new price.
4.7 Device Limits
Your Bounds Pro subscription may be used on up to 3 devices linked to your account.
4.8 Family Library
Subscriptions are tied to a single account and are not shared via Google Play Family Library.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the App only for its intended purpose: inspecting and debugging user interface layouts on your own device. You agree not to:
- Use the App to access, collect, or store personal information, passwords, or sensitive data from other users' devices or apps.
- Use the App for any purpose that violates applicable laws or regulations.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the App, except as permitted by applicable law.
- Modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works based on the App.
- Remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices in the App.
- Distribute, license, sell, or otherwise transfer the App or your account to any third party.
- Use the App to interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of any system, service, or network.
- Circumvent, disable, or otherwise interfere with security-related features of the App, including subscription verification and integrity checks.
- Use automated scripts, bots, or other tools to interact with the App.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App, other accounts, or our systems.
6. Permissions and Device Access
6.1 Accessibility Service
The App requires the Android AccessibilityService permission to inspect app layouts. This permission grants the App access to the UI hierarchy of apps running on your device. By enabling this permission, you acknowledge that:
- The App uses this access solely to provide the layout inspection feature.
- All data accessed through the AccessibilityService is processed locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers or any third party.
- You can disable this permission at any time through your device's system settings, which will disable the layout inspection feature.
6.2 Display Over Other Apps (Overlay)
The App requires permission to display over other apps to show layout inspection overlays. This overlay is used exclusively for displaying layout bounds, grid lines, and element information.
6.3 Notifications
The App uses notifications to display inspection results, provide quick actions, and maintain the foreground service that powers the layout inspection overlay.
6.4 Other Permissions
The App may request additional permissions (e.g., vibration for haptic feedback, boot completion for auto-start). Each permission is used solely for its stated purpose as described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Intellectual Property
7.1 Ownership
The App, including its design, code, graphics, logos, and content, is owned by Codecastic Studios and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. All rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved.
7.2 License
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the App on your personal device for its intended purpose.
7.3 Feedback
If you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the App, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable license to use, modify, and incorporate that feedback without obligation to you.
8. Disclaimers
8.1 "As Is" Basis
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
8.2 No Guarantee of Accuracy
We do not guarantee that the layout inspection results provided by the App are accurate, complete, or error-free. The App is intended as a development and debugging aid, and you should not rely solely on its output for production decisions.
8.3 Third-Party Apps
The App inspects the UI of third-party apps running on your device. We are not responsible for the behavior, content, or functionality of third-party apps. The App does not modify third-party apps in any way.
8.4 Availability
We do not guarantee that the App will be available at all times or that it will function without interruption or errors. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the App (or any part of it) at any time without notice.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL CODECASTIC STUDIOS, ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, PARTNERS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE APP, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE LIABILITY, OR FIFTY US DOLLARS (USD $50), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Codecastic Studios and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in connection with: (a) your use of the App; (b) your violation of these Terms; or (c) your violation of any rights of a third party.
11. Privacy
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using the App, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.
12. Modifications to the Service
We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue the App or any of its features (including premium features) at any time, with or without notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the App.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of these Terms. Your continued use of the App after revised Terms are posted constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the App.
14. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in India.
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
16. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Codecastic Studios regarding your use of the App and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
17. Waiver
Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision. A waiver of any provision shall be effective only if made in writing and signed by us.
